One Girl, Third World

Within five years, God took me on an adventure from “normal” Christ-following woman, wife, mom, women’s ministry director and friend to the director of the AIDS Task Force at my large suburban church, a member of the Executive Board of Directors of my local HIV/AIDS clinic, the leader of the Faith Initiative Team of my local HIV/AIDS clinic, an international traveler who has now been to Haiti, Sierra Leone and Liberia on missions and AIDS-related trips, as well as influencing the organization, Samaritan’s Purse, to begin short-term non-disaster relief missions trips with North American churches (ours being the first: http://www.vimeo.com/7919582). This book is the chronicle of my journey of following God in ways I never thought I would.

He Is Just That Into You

Video trailer of He Is Just That Into You

Boy meets girl. Boy and girl fall madly in love. Boy or girl does something that ticks off the other. Boy and girl decide to hang in there in spite of the misunderstandings, secretly wondering if this is as good as it’s ever going to get. It’s not the fairytale love story, is it? But we still hope for something that will last, something fuller. But what if we found a Love that actually could last a lifetime and be deeper than we ever imagined? He Is Just That into You is a collection of essays of a faithful God who pursues, engages, and has no fear of commitment. Worldly love can come and go. Male-female relationships-even healthy, married ones-will experience difficulties and can leave us feeling all alone. But don’t lose hope! There is a Love that will not let you down or walk away; who will be a part of your everyday life, laying Himself down for you, and loving you fully for the rest of your days.

“One of the greatest gifts we can give one another is honesty. Another is friendship. Another is a language to describe our daily life with God, in all its beauty and longing. In these stories, Elisabeth gives her readers all three.” -Shauna Niequist, author of Bittersweet and Cold Tangerines

What people are saying about Elisabeth’s writing:

I wish everyone wrote the way Elisabeth Corcoran does! She has a gift for crafting stories that show her big and broken heart and her sharp mind–all the while making us laugh out loud. Her stories are the type that we wish were part of our everyday friendships and conversations. Her raw and touching honesty make us feel less alone in our struggles–and yet more loved by the One who walks with us in them.
Caryn Rivadeneira, former managing editor of Marriage Partnership magazine and Christian Parenting Today, and author of Grumble Hallelujah & Mama’s Got a Fake I.D.

I think my favorite thing about your writing is your sense of humor.  It is so funny.  Your book is a great combination of humor and spiritual/emotional depth.

I am writing to thank you for your obedience to God in writing your book. I have kept it beside my chair, and have spent many a day nursing my daughter and spending time with God, reading your devotionals. I wanted to let you know that this book has given me insight into motherhood as a Christian that I would not have had without it. I plan on going through it many more times, throughout the years. God has blessed me through you.

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
